THE Anitua Protective Services is going from strength to strength and has been vindicated for its decision to focus on training and the delivery of excellence in regard to security services with plenty of new business.

Acting general manager Dan Simpson said in the group’s newsletter: “After an industry, consumer and National Training Council consultation, it was decided we would expand our training capability to include a greater variety of courses with both NTC and Australian Quality Training Framework accreditation.

“APS has attracted the attention of several high-profile businesses and has managed to secure a number of long-term contracts, resulting in us fast becoming the security company of choice in the New Guinea Islands region.”

The security firm has branched out with its new venture Anitua Vocational Training and Educational Centres to keep up with the growing demand for training.

The training centre was initially created to service internal security services training needs, however it became apparent there was a considerable gap in vocational training in the country.

As the demand grows, so too would the centre with plans already in place for an eight-classroom facility to be built in 2015.

The development of the centre has generated plenty of community interest with support pledged from the local level government, the PNG Women’s Association, and several major businesses.
