Forget hunting with the Hunters

Letters

IT is shameful and embarrassing for the PNG SP Hunters, comprising mostly Kumuls, not making the elimination finals or finishing at the top 10 for more than 10 seasons.
It is a disgrace for rugby league-mad Papua New Guinea.
When we look at other Queensland Intrust Cup teams, they do not have Kangaroos like the Hunters. Even the NRL first graders are not there.
Look at the SP Hunters team. We have veteran Kumuls in there, some current Kumuls and upcoming Kumul players in the team.
But the results do not tell us so.
Those at the helm of PNGRFL must bow their heads in shame. Forget about putting the18th team (from PNG) into the prestigious NRL competition.
If the Hunters cannot be competitive now, PNG will never be competitive in the future.
Smaller Pacific Island nations are making a name for themselves in nearly all sports played in Australia. PNG, on the other hand, is still struggling to even make the qualifying rung.
Going hunting with the Hunters? I don’t think so.
