THE National Airports Corporation (NAC) has been told to contribute meaningfully to national development after launching its 2030 corporate strategy.
Outgoing Minister for Civil Aviation Davis Steven said he was confident of the aviation industry being enhanced through the 2030 corporate strategy and five-year corporate plan.
He emphasised the need for the aviation industry under NAC to contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.
“I am glad that I can witness this occasion and celebrate the launching of the corporate strategy and five-year corporate plan for NAC.
“This indeed is a milestone because only five years ago, it was difficult to see whether we would be running the National Airports Corporation in such a strategic way.  Our challenges continue to be in meeting international standards set for us and also the governments’ expectations.”
Steven, now the Justice Minister and Attorney-General, is being replaced by Kandep MP Alfred Manase as Civil Aviation Minister.
Steven said the NAC was well positioned for the future to build on improvements accomplished during his term.
