Former public servant facing fraud-related charges

A FORMER public servant in Northern is facing five counts of fraud-related charges involving K2.3 million.
National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate director Chief Superintendent Mathew Damaru said Copland Gewa, the former provincial labour and industrial relations, was charged with five counts of misappropriating K2.3million.
Gewa, 55, is from Laudari village in Sohe distric. Police questioned him after an investigation by the Labour Department. He is currently in custody and expected to appear in the Popondetta court today.
