THE Digicel Foundation has donated more than 10 boxes of reading books to partner Tubusereia Primary School in Central recently to mark the International Literacy Day.
Digicel Foundation chief executive officer Serena Sasingian said that libraries were an essential part of students’ educational journey.
Sasingian added that the foundation had built 33 libraries nationwide as part of its school infrastructure programme.
Tubusereia Primary School head teacher Kwara Kwara, said it was a privilege for the school to be supported by the foundation not only for donating the books for their library, but also building a new building housing eight classrooms.
“English is not our mother tongue or first language so our library set up is one of the way to increase reading in the school,” Kwara said.
