Foundation sponsors school excursion at nature park

STUDENTS and teachers in the nation’s capital can now attend the Port Moresby Nature Park’s schools excursion programme following a sponsorship announcement by Sir Brian Bell Foundation.
The student entry-fee sponsorship would ensure that no student was left behind from the interactive learning opportunities at the park.
The park currently runs the only structured schools-excursion programme in the country.
It focuses on individual programmes created for each school grade as well as a number of programmes, including ‘Wildlife Superheros’, ‘Environment and Me’ and ‘Cultural Connects’.
The programmes would be rolled out at different periods during the school year.
Acting education manager at the park Shirley Mogi said the timing was perfect as schools in Port Moresby were reopening after the lockdown.

  • Thank you Nature Park and Sir Brian Bell Foundation. The intentions are good but publicity is bad with children not taking into account COVID 19 safety protocols…no mask or social distancing regardless of age. They say; ‘a picture tells a thousand words’. We can improve in next visit or excursion by students.
