TWO university students left over the weekend to continue their studies in Malaysia.
Imam from East Sepik and Joel Koitaka from Western Highlands were studying electrical engineering at the University of Technology will continue their education at the National University of Malaysia (University Kabamsang Malaysia) in Malaysia under the Sime Darby Foundation Scholarship programme with New Britain Palm Oil Limited.
PNG NBPOL country manager Robert Nilkare said the programme designed by the Sime Darby Foundation was for PNG students as this is a promise made to the Prime Minister last year. He said of the 15 students selected for the scholarship, two have left for Malaysia and the rest will continue in the local universities and colleges.
He said education is the key and training individuals and young Papua New Guineans into the agriculture industry is important.
“We are doing our part as PNG’s largest Agriculture developer and investor to do just that.”
