Fourteen receive Logohu awards

A SENIOR judge, a governor and late businessman were among a 14 recipients honoured with Logohu awards, the State’s highest recognition for services to the country, at Government House in Port Moresby yesterday.
Governor-General Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae presided over the 46th Independence Anniversary honours investiture with notable recipients being Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika, Central Governor Robert Agarobe and late businessman Sir Theophilus George Constantinou recognised posthumously.
Community leaders Paul Kurai and Jacob Luke were also recognised with the Grand Companion of the Order of Logohu.
Grand Chief Sir Gibbs was awarded for services to the judiciary and legal fraternity of Papua New Guinea while the late Grand Chief Sir Theophilus was honoured for his services and contribution to the country’s business sector in particular the hotel industry.
Grand Chief Luke was awarded for his services to local communities in and around the Highlands region and Morobe.
He was awarded for his services to church through donations and for helping provide health and education services as well as employment to locals over 33-year period.
Grand Chief Kurai was awarded for serving as councillor for more than 42 years where he contributed to the development of churches.
Grand Chief Agarobe was awarded for his services in the aviation industry.
