Frank blasts into side

HARD-running back Joe Frank has earned himself a spot on the wing in the SP PNG Hunters side that face the Ipswich Jets at the National Football Stadium on Saturday.
The 23-year-old, who is Hunters No.80, replaces Junior Rau, who was dropped for the Round 7 Intrust Super Cup game.
A press release from Hunters management stated that Rau, pictured, was omitted from consideration for missing two training sessions after the team returned from Brisbane on Sunday following their first win against Central Queensland Capras on Saturday night.
Frank, who impressed in his debut off the bench in Emerald, Queensland, will line up opposite Jets flyer Marmin Barba.
Club captain Adex Wera remains on the bench along with speedster Gairo Kapana, reserve half Charlie Simon and prop Enoch Maki as coach Marum looks to counter the Jets unorthodox high tempo style.
Butler Morris, Daniel Tapol and rookie Rex Kaupa make up the extended bench.
Coach Michael Marum will confirm final 17-man team an hour before kick-off. The match is themed “Colour Rush” and involves five teams – PNG Hunters, Norths Devils, Northern Pride, Wynnum Manly Seagulls and Townsville Blackhawks – who are supported by EMU Sportswear and EV2.
The SP Hunters will wear the “Red’ exclusive ‘Colour Rush 2019’ jerseys.
The fixture kicks off at 3pm with gates to open at 11am. Two Digicel Cup matches will bookend the Q-Cup clash with the Gulf Isou taking on the Rabaul Gurias starting at 12.15pm and the Port Moresby Vipers facing the Hela Wigmen in the 5pm game.
