Free internet a boost for Nasfund members

Seventeen thousand (17,000) Nasfund members will now able to manage their savings online at no cost with free internet provided by Telikom PNG.
This includes free access to the smartphone application, member online portal, Nasfund website and employer online portal that is expected to benefit more than 1000 employers.
This was announced yesterday by Nasfund chief officer member services, Charlie Gilichibi, who said customer convenience was the primary reason for this partnership.
“This is free and means there are no cost at all for accessing our online platforms, thanks to our partnership with Telikom,” he said.
“All members have to do is have a smartphone with Telikom SIM and with no credits, you can still access our services.
“This is a first in PNG and is a unique service around the world.
“We are grateful to have Telikom PNG with us in making sure that our online members have access, which should make it very convenient for them.”
Gilichibi said the service was not available for Nasfund Contributors and Savings and Loans Society online members but confirmed that work in that area was still in progress.
Telikom PNG national retail manager Amos Tepi said its commercial take from the arrangement was to grow its subscriber base.
“It’s a win-win situation for both as they give their members access to their online services and through this we get to grow our subscriber base with,” Tepi said.
“This is specific to Nasfund but we at Telikom would be interested with others to provide this service”
Telikom PNG acting chief executive Xavier Victor said the State company was grateful to be part of this partnership with Nasfund to better service its clients around the country.
“With Telikom’s affordability, reliability and 4g Lte broadband speeds, we encourage members and employers to acquire and utilise a Telikom Sim card to access your Nasfund account information for free,” he said.
