Friends bag 13-run win, hand 21 Makers another loss in Kimbe cricket

FRIENDS continued 21 Makers’ losing streak with a 13-run win in the men’s division of the Kimbe Cricket Association’s T20 competition at the Kimbe Secondary School Oval on Saturday.
Friends won the toss and chose to bat first.
Friends scored 8/105 at the end of their 20 overs.
Elizah Mapango (25 not out) and Christopher Henry (12) played crucial roles in the win.
In their innings, 21 Makers were all out for 92 runs after 19.4 overs.
Friends’ Joe Dennis (4/18) and Aloisus Nani (1/13) were good with the ball.
Sarakolok, with talent coming out of the school cricket programme, beat Bakery Bar by two runs on Sunday.
With the likes of experienced players in Daure Sam and Ifuda brothers Ferral and Dudu, they won the toss and chose to bat first.
Sarakolok were all out for 6/125 at the end of their 20 overs.
“Dudu helped his side with 42 runs,”association secretary Andrew Henry told The National.
“He was supported Ryan Yanga and Paul Gemis.
“They have a promising future in the sport.
“Bakery Bar’s Romley Kauyola was solid with four wickets.
“Abi and his brother Romley scored good runs but Bakery Bar fell short, recording 8/123 in their 20 overs.” Meanwhile, the women’s match on Sunday saw Friends beat Sarakolok by 10 wickets.
Tabitha Kepas and Hadassah Ateike took two wickets each as Friends restricted Sarakolok to 7/51 in the 10-over fixture.
Benedhine Henry recorded 10 runs in Friends’ first win of the season.
