Fuel prices increase

PRICES for petrol, diesel and kerosene in Port Moresby have increased between 12 and 16 toea.
The price of petrol went up by 12 toea to K3.35 from K3.23 last month. Diesel increased by 16 toea to K3.24 compared with K3.08 last month.
Price of kerosene increased by 14 toea to K2.96 compared with K2.82 last month.
According to the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC) the increase in the retail prices for the three petroleum products was mainly attributed to the increases in the Import Parity Prices for March.
These price increases are mainly attributed to the increase in the crude oil prices for February 2019.
ICCC commissioner and CEO Paulus Ain said its investigation officers would conduct inspections at all service stations to ensure prices of petroleum products did not exceed.
