Fund rubber plantation

Letters

I AM appealing to the government to reinstate the rubber plantation in Abau, Central, by funding the project in the 2020 Budget.
The rubber plantation was established by the Department of Agriculture & Livestock (DAL) in the 1980s.
In 2000, DAL withdrew all its services leaving the farmers in the dark. Nearly 10,000 hectors of the land is owned by the state and is covered with the rubber trees.
They are being taken care of by farmers, who do not receive any help from the government yet pay taxes.
The government should be proud that the only biggest rubber project generates good revenue for the economy.
The farmers, from the different parts of the country, work hard to maintain the standard.
