G-G resumes duty after taking annual leave

GOVERNOR-General Sir Bob Dadae resumed official duties yesterday at Government House with a dedication service with his staff.
Sir Bob was on annual leave for seven weeks.
Speaker of Parliament and Manus MP Job Pomat was acting in the position in Sir Bob’s absence.
Sir Bob said God was the source of everything and it was important to put God first in everything people did.
“My leave ended and I will be resuming official duties for 2018 and it is proper that we have a dedication service and acknowledge God first to start this New Year.” Pastor Gundu Kagl, from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea and who conducted the dedication service, urged the governor-general and his staff to be honest to themselves and do what was right.
“We cannot exchange truth for material things nor exchange truth for falsehood,” he said.
