MOROBE Deputy Governor Morokoi Gaiwata has urged all public servants and local level government presidents to work with governor-elect Kelly Naru.
Naru was declared governor at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Indoor Stadium in Lae, Morobe, last Friday after polling more than 11,400 votes to beat incumbent Luther Wenge.
Gaiwata welcomed the appointment of Naru, saying he had the support of all 33 local level government presidents who looked forward to supporting and working with him until the LLG elections next year.
He urged staff of districts and provincial administration to support the new governor and MPs.
Gaiwata, who is president of the Waria local level government, called on all nine Morobe MPs to put their political differences aside and work in Morobe’s interest.
He paid tribute Luther Wenge, saying it was a privilege to work with with him.
Gaiwata said it was difficult to lose someone of Wenge’s calibre but the Morobe people had spoken through the ballot box.
“On behalf of my family and people of Waria, I wish him well in his future endeavours,” he said.
