THE National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has maintained its naming rights with K250,000 sponsorship for the 67th Goroka Show this year.
NGCB community benefit fund director Naomi Eringe presented the cheque to Goroka Show committee chairman Keryn Hargreaves in Port Moresby.
Eringe said by supporting the show, NGCB reaffirmed its commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage, the promotion of tourism, and the development of local communities.
“The board is committed to support the Goroka Show and invest in cultural events to foster unity and peace through promoting our cultures,” he said.
The Goroka Show is set for Independence Sept 16-17.
Hargreaves said NGCB had supported the show for over a decade.
“The Goroka Show will be much more exciting, entertaining, bigger and better than the previous shows.
“The show will feature a range of fun activities for all ages, from art exhibitions and craft demonstrations to interactive workshop.
“Visitors will have a chance to engage with artisans, painters, farmers, and craftsmen as they showcase their skills and craftsmanship.
“This initiative aims to give prominence to the invaluable contributions of these individuals and foster economic opportunities within the communities.
“We encourage locals and international tourists to attend the show and experience the splendour of traditional cultures and the region’s exquisite biodiversity.”
