GE22 is a disaster

Letters

MANY political mysteries – both good and bad for the people – have been unearthed recently.
Some of the impacts of these mysteries have lasted years.
But before polling, the country stepped into a statistical crisis – the national census was inconsistent with the current population, enlisting a bunch of ghost names while omitting countless eligible voters.
And there was a sequence of reports for counterfeit papers, election-related violence, electoral fraud (bribery), fake election officials and several others that put the country at risk by jeopardising its Constitution.
The dirty players may force their way in and hide under the comfort of air-conditioned vehicles, offices and homes when innocent women and children are beheaded, chopped into pieces and sacrificed all in the name of winning an election.
People who manipulate others with their corrupt qualities assume they will walk away free.
They may think that this is a strategy that will bring them victory, but, in fact, it clouds their judgement.
Have we forgotten nature’s balancing system?
People who misuse public funds and office are naturally eliminated.
We have lost a good number of influential figures at the peak of their lives, and it was, in part, because of their investment in injustice.
So do not panic or be disorientated or lose hope.
What we experience has a purpose and it is for change.
To those who are trying to take up a public office, it is better to master your private affairs before administering the affairs of the public.
Strengthen your heart and mind so that you are not tempted into corruption.
Politics is not a game or a fast way to a lavish lifestyle.
It is a noble profession.
A profession that concerns the people.
Before you take up the responsibility, will you be considerate?
Are you sympathetic?
Empathetic? Are you trustworthy?
Supportive?
Will you release us from the ongoing social, political and economic burdens?
The General Election 2022 is a failure.
What was a systematic breakdown has become a disaster and the lack of coordination between government institutions has caused this chaos.
Therefore, should our census be updated one or two years prior to an election?
Or should we invite international organisations such as Transparency International and other UN agencies to run our elections?
If we are unable to eradicate our issues, then let nature take its course.
