Gebbie arrives in Brisbane

PAPUA New Guinea international Edene Gebbie has arrived in Brisbane for his mandatory 14-day quarantine ahead of his transition down to Sydney to join Wests Tigers.
With no direct flights from Papua New Guinea to Sydney, Gebbie will quarantine in isolation in Brisbane for two weeks before linking up with his new National Rugby League teammates.
Having signed a train-and-trial deal with the club late last year, the 25-year-old has been delayed in joining the club due to a raft of travel and biosecurity issues, but the finish line is certainly in sight for the talented outside back.
The club would like to extend its thanks to Marsden State High in Brisbane, who generously supplied Gebbie with training gear and equipment to get him ready for the start of the 2021 season with Wests Tigers.
Having starred for the SP Hunters and Wynnum Manly in the Queensland Intrust Super Cup, Gebbie will add speed and competition for spots in the club’s outside backs when he begins his train-and-trial contract.
