Gender equity policies vital: Secretary

SOME law and justice sector agencies need to implement policies relating to gender equity disability and social inclusion (Gedsi) service to practice safe workplace ethics, an official says.
Constitutional and Law Reform Commission (CLRC) secretary Dr Mange Matui said Gedsi policies focused on enabling a working environment where employees were safe and continued to contribute to the economy.
Matui made this remark following the opening of a new gender office for the Papua New Guinea Defence Force in Port Moresby recently.
“The Gedsi community practice, chaired by CLRC works to ensure we promote policy agendas and encourage agencies within different sectors of public service to practice safe workplace ethics.”
