Get church members into SME, church leaders urged

PASTORS and church leaders need to involve their church members in small-to-medium enterprise (SME) activities to support the Government’s vision to promote small business growth in the country, a pastor says.
Ps Robert Geu, from Minj, Jiwaka, told The National that churches could involve their members in church activities and also SME activities to sustain themselves.
“We don’t have to start big, start small and the Lord will multiply and bless us,” he said.
He said SMEs were an important engine for economic growth and churches could play a role in rallying their members to be involved small business.
“Churches unite and pray for this nation, the impacts of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have resulted in some SMEs and families being affected, many lost their jobs and daily income affected.
“We are happy with the Government’s policy and it will depend on the people’s hard work and the Government’s support to make it a reality; it is a partnership,” Geu said.
