Get more women into Parliament

Letters

THE Papua New Guinean perspective on the eligibility and strength of women’s leadership is nothing like how the Western nations view their women.
Our ancestral tradition of men being the dominant leader has taken root in our society.
Most of the people in this generation still believe that men make better leaders than women.
Such old-fashioned mentalities should be changed.
Women should be able to contest the elections despite how society views them.
Since the State has shelved the reserved seats plan, women have to contest the elections just as men.
Women are equal and have a right to live their dreams.
They deserve all the support they can get from us.
I want more women to put their hands up and contest the coming elections.
We do not have enough women in Parliament.
We have only sent a few to Parliament and this is not enough.
We need more women in Parliament.
I believe more women should win sits in Parliament now because of separate polling booths.
