GFI shut out BSP as nines playoffs continue

GOODMAN Fielder International (GFI) shut out Bank South Pacific with an 18-0 victory in the Sportz Event Port Moresby Corporate League Nines at the Bava Park on Tuesday night.
The match was called off by referee Francis Ruma two minutes from fulltime due to the fading lights.
The match was then awarded to GFI since most of the game had already been played.
In other results, PPL Blue beat KPMG 6-0.
Competition favourites and minor premiers Spidertek defeated PWC 12-8 and reigning champions Funeral Home triumphed over Westfume 18-12.
Brian Bell Crusaders beat PX Falcons 8-4 and National Capital District Commission defeated Brian Bell Allies 14-8.
Winners Spidertek, Funeral Home, Crusaders, NCDC, DOF Kobles, PNG Power Blues and GFI lock horns in the Cup finals on Sunday.
Premiership contenders Spidertek and Funeral Home should not underestimate the underdogs like NCDC, Kobles, PNG Power and GFI.
