GHANA Under-20 soccer squad, the Black Princesses, are here to make an impact in the competition.
This was the bold statement made by coach Mass-Ud Dramani after the team’s arrival from Cairns, North Queensland, yesterday.
“We want to make an impact and progress to the quarter-finals of the competition,” Dramani said.
He said the West Africans would feature in their fourth consecutive U20 women’s World Cup but were still looking forward to their first quarter-final.
With an impressive 6-0 pre-tournament win over Edge Hill in Cairns, coach Dramani will use this to motivate his players.
Ghana have been drawn against favourites the US, France and New Zealand in group C.
Dramani said although the US were favourites, Ghana were ready to make an impact during the tournament.
The United States are five-time winners of the World Cup with Ghana chasing their maiden title success.
The Black Princesses will be counting on US-based players and their three professionals from Serbia and Sweden to take on their opponents in their group C matches.
