SPORTS Vice-Minister Wesley Raminai has urged new SP Hunters coach Mathew Church and his men to give their best to meet the challenges in the upcoming Queensland Intrust Super Cup season.
He said during the Hunters season launch in Port Moresby on Wednesday that with so much passion for the game in the country, people had high expectations of the side.
“Each year is always a big challenge for the coach, players and the management but we have to keep pushing ahead,” Raminai said.
“The fans’ expectations are very high. As the coach and players, you all should do you part and everything else will fall into place.”
He said the Government had invested a lot in rugby league and would always continue to do so but added that they also expected the Hunters and Kumuls to continue improving.
“Last year, the Government spent K1.5 million just to host the Great Britain Lions test,” Raminai said.
“It turned out that we beat the Lions and our prime minister (James Marape) was pleased. He said that the government support wasn’t a waste of money.
“The Government will continue to support rugby league in big ways but the players, coaching staff and everyone involved must know that we want results.
“Our Hunters and Kumuls must continue to push on.”
Raminai, on behalf of Marape, wished the Hunters all the best for the upcoming Queensland Intrust Super League season.

Maybe International trade and relations is somewhat counted but I like to call it a MISTAKE. Focus on real need of basic services of the People instead!
