Giving rather than receiving

RECEIVING gifts on birthdays is a common practice for anyone turning a year older, but for Samuel Tam, it’s the opposite.
Friday (April 17) was his 72nd birthday which coincided with the graduation of 11 people who had undergone a month-long personal viability (PV) art of preparation corporate training.
“Papa Sam” as he is commonly known, presented three gifts, a K2,000 voucher to three people – Grace Iava, Aua Morri and Lavulea Kaiulo.
“That’s how I celebrate my birthday, it’s better that way,” Tam said.
“I celebrate differently, normally, I present a founder’s award to someone, recognising people who deserved to be recognised, those who serve others and help each other.
“I am doing the same this year, these three people I’m giving you a voucher of certificate to attend this PV training for levels one to three.”
