Good families vital

PAPUA New Guinea needs to have stable Christian families to build a strong healthy nation, a church leader says.
Anglican Bishop for the Port Moresby diocese Denny Guka said during the 56th anniversary celebrations for Holy Family Parish last Sunday the family must be built on God’s altar.
“In the same way, the Anglican church must have strong Anglican families so that we can build and grow the Anglican church to be part of God’s mission,” Guka said.
“It is through respecting our families that we can build the Holy Family Church through God’s grace.”
Guka said the holy family – Joseph, Mary and Jesus Christ – made a family special.
“In the same way, because we are Christians, we are baptised to believe in God and because we chose to accept Jesus as our Saviour, He is with us,” Guka said.
“A bigger family, a church family like the Holy Family built on individual families which build their lives in God can make a lot of difference.
“The Holy Family parish is right here in the middle of the Hohola residential area.
“So that calls for us who belong to the family here at Hohola to check ourselves to make sure that the image of God in us is realised.”
Guka also encouraged the congregation to respect their personal lives.
