FUEL and lubricant supplier Islands Petroleum is contributing K10,000 to Samaritan Aviation’s “Fuel for Life” project in East Sepik.
The fund was presented to the president of Samaritan Aviation, Mark Palm, and the Samaritan Aviation team by a representative of the company in Wewak yesterday.
Palm said Samaritan Aviation operated float planes in the country, serving 220,000 people who live along the Sepik River.
The families live in remote areas without any access to the only hospital in Wewak.
He said Samaritan gave hope to the people through emergency evacuation flights, delivery of medical supplies, plus disaster relief and community health programmes.
Islands Petroleum is a PNG-owned company with fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Kavieng, Alotau, Konebada, Popondetta and branches in Lae, Madang and Port Moresby.
It has over the years helped fundprojects around the country, mainly related to health and sports.
