SCHOOLS in the National Capital District began classes yesterday with a only few hiccups.

Some schools spent the first day completing the enrolment and transfer of students.

Some schools had class from 8am to 3pm. Others finished after lunch.

Some schools told parents to pay a fee of K100 before they could enroll their children.

“Ward Strip Demonstration Primary School started at a high note with an assembly held in the morning to welcome the students,” head teacher Emily Ricky said.

Ricky said class allocations for teachers had been done last week when teachers resumed duties.

The only problem was the enrollments of Grade Three students and transfers from other schools.

“The number we’re looking at to be enrolled in the school is more than expected,” she said.
