Goodman Fielder helps park build reptiles’ home

The Port Moresby Nature Park will now have its Reptile Haus exhibit completed thanks to Goodman Fielder PNG.
This follows the donation of K10,000 to by the company to help the park in completing its new reptile exhibit that will house different species of snakes, lizards and monitors.
Goodman Fielder PNG’s events and sponsorship executive Jenny Johnson said: “Goodman Fielder is happy to support the opening of the Reptile Haus exhibit and likes to contribute funds towards worthwhile initiatives such as this one.”
Johnson said Goodman Fielder supported the idea of preserving wildlife and educating the public about conservation and environment.
She said the exhibit would serve as an education centre for visitors and students on school excursion programmes.
Information on PNG’s unique reptile species and snake bite prevention would be also available at the exhibit opening up opportunities for future research and conservation programmes.
At the presentation, Nature Park general manager Michelle McGeorge said they were excited to be finally launching the Reptile Haus that had been two years in the making.
“The design of the reptile exhibit will meet international zoo standards as is the policy of the park and can be seen in zoo facilities worldwide.”
McGeorge said the Reptile Haus launch would be celebrated with five weeks (Sept 7 to Oct 13) of activities including a snake presentation.
