GOODMAN Fielder PNG will begin its oil-bottling production next month at its multi-million-kina facility in Lae.
National demand and supply planning manager Eranda Nanayakkara said the facility at 11-Mile would also house a rice mill, flour mill and poultry feed mill.
The plant will be targeting high-quality produce as it keeps up with the eight million-plus people’s demand for wheat-based food produce.
“We’re trying to increase the tonnes we can get out.”
He said bringing the facility online this year would ensure it became the leading Asian and Pacific food company.
General manager Manish Randev in 2020 said the investment was worth about K500million.
Nanayakkara said the company planned different levels of expansion in the next five years.
“We will continue to grow and expand, looking at what other categories we want to go into,” he said.
He said they were also bringing in top technology.
