GORDON police in Port Moresby have been given a laptop to help in their work.
The donation was made by Digitec PNG Limited.
Business development manager Charles Rassehei said it was part of its community obligation.
“We should look after those law enforcers that are looking after us especially the police,” he said.
Rassehei encouraged companies and business houses in Gordon to help police combat crime.
Gordon police station commander Chief Inspector Tobby Hamago said the laptop would come in useful at the station to prepare court files and store information.
“We encountered problems to create court files and store away the information because most of our computers are old and malfunctioning,” he said.
He said the laptop was convenient to carry by officers who needed to work at home.
“The laptop will help in documentation of court files and also help out on other administrative duties of the station,” Hamago said.
