PNG Air flights into Goroka, Eastern Highlands, resumed on Tuesday, the airline says.
The airline said the resumption of services followed a review of safe operations in light of the recent surge in Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the province, and after close coordination with advice from the Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority, which introduced new requirements for safer travel.
A medical surveillance team will be stationed at Goroka Airport to enforce the following:

  • ARRIVALS and departing passengers must provide proof of vaccination (vaccination card);
  • UNVACCINATED passengers will be subjected to rapid diagnostic testing (RDT); and,
  • THOSE who return a positive test will be subject to quarantine as deemed appropriate by the EHPHA.

“This information is provided by the provincial controller’s desk, and PNG Air is fully compliant with these requirements,” the airline said.
“When purchasing tickets at any PNG Air or Post PNG sales office, passengers are still required to fill out an air passenger travel form, and the health declaration form upon arrival.”
