Goroka names sides for junior zone trials

GOROKA Schoolboys rugby league competition has named U-15 and U-17 sides to participate in the junior zone trials in Lae this month.
Goroka Schoolboys rugby league chairman Ellyson Ketauwo named the team last week.
Ketauwo said he was confident the players would follow the example the Bintangor Lahanis players have set by becoming the minor premiers to win the trials.
It is anticipated that the junior trials will be staged as a lead-up to the Prime Minister’s XIII clash between PNG and Australia on Sept 25.
Ketauwo said Goroka performed well in the recent U-19 junior championships by claiming third spot.
He said from the schoolboys competition, they had produced players like Gonella Urakusie, Wesley Mohukule, Kinsley Jaggie and Thompson Tete who are currently playing for the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis.
The U-15 side is Bobby Manua, Tetuwo Kupisili, Tasi Kui, Napolean Ilofa, Shawartz Neheya, Lavax Ketauwo, Suwaire Jack, Daniel Mite, Moses Dick, Joseph Bonny, Willie Paul, Roger David, Judah Sipa, Joseph Paul, Toton Gomex, Nicholas Russel, Moses Baki, Waida Samuel, Gozo Roy and Pepela Asineha.
The coach is Eddie Trewhel, manager is Gregory Maul and trainer is Tahe Oveso.
The U-17 side side is Jonah Apo, Jerry Gezare, Polly Aizo, Patrick Inapero, Enoch Brian, Willie Samuel, Nicky Oliver, Kebil Luke, Lafana Mondu, Uwau Mero, Martin Dickson, John Mua, Brandon Jacob, Gabriel John, Philemon Erick, Karo Chris, Ian Mentai, Nathan Goso, Warike Tombun and Nogo Ore.
The coach is Hunter Bobola, manager is Ellyson Ketauwo and trainer is David Koyapo.
