Gosiha FC can make a return, Agunam says

GOROKA has enough soccer talent to return to the National Soccer League, says Goroka Football Association president Cathy Agunam.
Agunam said the last time Goroka took part in the NSL was through Goroka Gosiha FC in the 2015-16 season.
The only obstacle standing in way of Goroka’s NSL return is funding. “There is enough talent here that we’ve identified and we’re looking forward to putting a Goroka team in the National Soccer League in the near future,” Agunam said.
“At this stage we don’t have a sponsor but once we do we will make a bid.
“Previously the Goroka MP Bire Kimesopa was supportive and that saw us play in the NSL.
“We have the talent here but we have to secure sponsorship and give our players that opportunity they deserve to play in an elite competition.”
While concluding the Goroka association finals last week, Agunam said the talent was there.
“Most of our clubs are students from the University of Goroka so the players come from all over PNG.”
