Governor-General and Chief Scout Sir Bob Dadae says he is happy with Government’s support for the Scout Movement.
He was speaking at the Founder’s Day of the World Scout Movement in Port Moresby on Saturday.
Sir Bob said the Government, through the Department of National Planning and Monitoring and the National Youth Development Authority, allocated K1 million under the public investment programme (PIP) in the 2019 Budget for infrastructure redevelopment of the national Scout headquarters.
“I am also happy to note that the National Education Department is currently working in consultation with the Scout Association to develop a Scout education policy for scouting to be implemented in all schools,” he said.
Sir Bob said it was an occasion to remember and celebrate the birthdate of the founder of the movement, Lord Robert Baden-Powell.
