EAST New Britain Governor Ereman ToBaining Jnr has called on all students attending the University of Goroka to reconcile before classes resume.
He made this call while visiting East New Britain students there last week.
He also called on all leaders, especially parliamentarians, the university senate and student leaders to initiate a reconciliation ceremony for all students before classes.
He made a similar call to students attending the University of Technology in Lae and appealed to all students studying in tertiary institutions throughout the country to exercise restraint and common sense.
ToBaining urged East New Britain students to stay on campus and wait on a final decision from the university senate on the official resumption of classes.
The team had given K15,000 to students at UOG to assist them with food and accommodation while they wait for classes to resume.
He assured parents and students of further support if the situation worsens.
The governor was accompanied by the acting deputy provincial administrator corporate services Nicholas Larme and the provincial disaster coordinator Don Tokunai.
