Govt enacted measures to protect forest

PAPUA New Guinea has the third largest rainforest in the world and is ranked 17th on the planet as the country with the most biodiversity, it was revealed at a world expo.
As such, the Government has developed environment protection and mitigation measures, and used the Dubai world expo to tell the world that while the country is open for investment, it is keen on protecting its paradise.
The second part of the round table discussions in Dubai on Friday was on education, science and the green economy aims to bring together scientists, environmentalists, academics, policy makers, financial experts and economic solution providers to exchange ideas, form partnerships and solutions for mutual economic gains in a climate friendly and sustainable manner.
Tourism, Art and Culture Minister Isi Henry Leonard said more was needed to be done in terms of sustainable use of the forest, agriculture, mineral and hydrocarbon resources the country is blessed with.
