Govt needs to act on all the power issues

Letters

ELECTIRICITY was off for three weekends at the same time in Mt Hagen and other highlands provinces.
The power cut started at 9am on Saturday and came back on at 9am on Sunday morning.
It happened on the same time for the last three consecutive weekends in Mt Hagen.
If PNG Power is doing some maintenance or other important things, it is supposed to reliably inform the public.
When electricity is not on, business houses and major organisations are forced to fund their own fuel.  The firm supposed to subsidise fuel and assist the organisations and business houses.
The power company is taking a joy ride on the monopoly and is unscrupulous about its business.
Former PNGBC was unprofitable and as soon as it was sold off BSP is now doing very well.
The Government must seriously look at privatising PNG Power or allow for competitors to enter the market so that the people’s needs can be fully catered for
