Govt should invest in music industry

Letters

IN this century, music is seen as a multi-million dollar industry.
Looking at the United States of America, music has changed the lives of many individuals.
Music can contribute to a country’s economy.
However, in Papua New Guinea, the Government sees music as unimportant.
After observing the singers from our country, I believe the Government has neglected them all these time.
I’m calling on the Government to have a look at our music industry.
Research has shown that countries who have invested in their music industry are benefiting from their investments.
During times of financial constraints, the Government should turn to areas where it thinks can contribute effectively to the people’s lives.
One of them is our music industry.
We have lots of talented artists who have released enough songs, however, we haven’t seen their songs reaching the international platform.
Probably this is because the Government is too reluctant to fund our entertainment industry.
I hope this changes.
