LOGGING companies have been urged to support the government and the landowners by contributing to infrastructure development in the logging concessional areas.
Forest Minister Solan Mirism said every logging company should help build roads and bridges to benefit the people when the logging activities ended.
Mirisim said during a recent visit to Vanimo, he realised that logging companies operating in the area had built permanent bridges and roads.
He commended Abanab 56 and Vanimo Timbers for contributing to the development of the logging area.
“I call on forest partners to respect the landowners and build infrastructure,” Misisim said.
“I encourage other logging companies operating in the country to help in the socio-economic well-being of people.”
