FOUR graduates have completed an 18-month graduate development programme with Kada Poroman Micro Finance Ltd (KDML) in Kokopo, East New Britain, last Tuesday.
Kada Poroman Micro Finance Ltd manageress Juliette Tabali said the four students were recent graduates from the University of PNG and University of Technology.
Upon completion of the programme, the graduates were presented certificates in a ceremony held at the KPML’s Kokopo office.
Tabali said the graduate development programme was initiated to mentor new graduates and groom them for leadership management positions within the institution.
She said the programme prepared and harnessed the graduates for branch networking.
The company came up with the programme to promote young Papua New Guineans by recognising their potentials in their field of study and providing them with a career pathway after university.
“The four were engaged throughout the course of the graduate development programme with rotational programme and were given opportunity to gain experience across a range of terms as well as the departments,” Tabali said.
She said more employment opportunities would be available allowing graduates to join KDML.
In the one-year six-month programme, the graduates conducted feasibility studies, developed project cash flows and rotated between KPML departments.
Studies were carried out on businesses such as PMV, poultry, boat service, trade stores, tailoring, taxi service, hire cars, corporative-hybrid cocoa nursery in local level governments in East New Britain.
