GRADUATES from Mapex Training Institute’s (MTI) Kokopo campus, East New Britain, have been encouraged to go for further studies.
National Broadcasting Corporation ENB director Dorcas Tindri encouraged the female graduates to consider attaining further qualifications and boosting their earning potential.
Tindri said this during the institution’s graduation recently.
She said it was encouraging to see more women taking up technical courses and going into male-dominated industries.
She said the demand for technical workers would increase as the country grew and this would mean, there would be more opportunities for graduates from the technical fields.
“Some of us in the media industry and at NBC are into technical work such as production,” she said.
“I am a journalist by profession, but I did not stop at getting and writing news, I also learned the technical part which is production.
“Therefore, I am encouraging the ladies graduating today that you should be telling yourselves that ‘I can go the next level’.”
Tindri urged the graduates to acknowledge their parents and those who had helped on their journey.
She added that parents were the driving force behind their children’s success. She urged parents to continue supporting their children.
Tindri encouraged the students to remain positive if they don’t find a job as the qualifications they acquired would always be of value in the society.
