BRIAN Bell Group has completed a milestone with the soft opening of its new state of the art Gordon shopping plaza in Port Moresby, National Capital District, yesterday attracting customers to its 21 retail shops.
Chief executive officer Cameron Mackellar told The National yesterday that it was the most significant investment the group had delivered.
“Today, we’ve got the new Gordon Plaza which is opening and we are proud that it is a significant investment in the whole Brian Bell capital programme,” he said.
“Today is the first day that it is opening and we wanted a soft opening for the retailers that are here.
“We’ve still got a few bits that we have to tidy up which we will do over the next few weeks.
“This will include all of the civil (work) such as car parking around the building.
“We will probably complete off with a footpath that goes around the very outside of the building to allow more car parking space.
“Today is a very proud moment for us at Brian Bell, you can see the smiles on all of our customer’s faces and all our team members and at the end of the day, it is a milestone for us.”
Mackellar told The National: “Our outlook for Brian Bell is very positive.
“Our future and successes are built on good decision making, taking risks and delivering what we say we will.
“The next five-year horizon is very solid for us and underpinned by a number of large capital investments, some about to realise within the next week or two and others which came on line in the past 12 months or so.
“We’ve spent, in excess, of K200,000,000 on key capital projects in the past three years, all adding to the future success of the Brian Bell Group.”
