Group leader outlines past aid work

Emergency disaster restoration team controller Dr William Hamlin is an Australian who has had a long experience working with the Government and in Papua New Guinea.
He introduced himself during the first media briefing of the team in Port Moresby yesterday.
“I’ve worked for 30 years in overseas aid work,” Hamlin said.
“I’ve put in place a health information system in Samoa.
“I’ve worked in Indonesia and Fiji.
“I’ve worked here on an AusAID immigration project in the early ’90s.
“We put in place the first computerised immigration system.
“I came here after going to Samoa again, for another stint.
“I came here to take up a position as team leader for PNG Incentive Fund.
“We did a lot of projects related to infrastructure at schools, universities, roads, bridges and all those sorts of things.”
