Group wants trade, tariff to be reviewed

 THE Tax Review Committee says it has recommended to the Government to have the trade and tariff review completed next year.

Committee chairman Sir Nagora Bogan said the committee was not able to complete the trade and tariff review.

The committee found that trade arrangements made under the World Trade Organisation had affected the manufacturing industry in the country.

A trade reduction programme was introduced by the Sate in 1999 as part of a reform agenda in exchange for financial assistance from international financial institutions.
