A LOCAL guesthouse has opened a new facility to meet the demand of local tourists, travelling employees and people who live and work in Port Moresby.
Nenk Homes Guesthouse, which first came into the hospitality industry in 2014, now has a second one at Lahara Avenue in Boroko.
“It is expanding from an existing guesthouse at Lapwing Drive, Gordon, with the target to accommodate more people and increase income from K10,000 to K25,000 a week,” properties manager Tony Ware told The National during the opening on Monday.
He said they were creating more jobs by expanding.
“Eight new staff are added onto the 12 existing,” Ware said.
“We are employing 20 staff.”
Ware said the public wanted affordable lodging, which Nenk Homes was providing that at a safe location.
The guesthouse has a three-bedroom house at K300 per day with all facilities provided.
This can be occupied by group travellers.
Beddings, tables, television, fridge, and cooking utensils are all provided.
Guests also have access to printing, typing, scanning and internet services.
The guesthouse provides airport pick-ups and drop-offs.
