NEW National Soccer League entry Erema Gulf Football Club will pay their K5000 expression of interest to participate in the 2014 season today.

The NSL registrations lapse today at close of business with Erema Gulf FC as a new bidders for an NSL spot.

Erema Gulf FC, under the Gulf Governor Havilla Kavo’s direction and encouragement to bid for NSL entry, has bigger plans to recruit about four players from Ba in Fiji through its sister city relationship like the Gulf Isapea rugby league club.

The bid for NSL entry is an initiative Kavo to promote and develop soccer in Gulf.

Kavo has acknowledged the need to develop and showcase new and emerging players from the province in the nation’s top tier soccer competition.

Erema Gulf FC is in the process of seeking assistance from Petroleum Resources Kutubu Ltd for its endeavour.

The new Gulf franchise is backed by the Gulf Provincial Government.

Former PNG striker and women’s three-time champion coach Steven Mune is head coach

The team will be managed by Francis Teichshee.

Mune said the new franchise has secured some notable players but is tight-lipped about revealing any names at this time unless the bid is accepted by the NSL Board.
