THE Southern Region Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup tournament that covers both the Central and NCD legs has attracted teams from Gulf and the Goilala district in Central province.
Tournament director Simon Maima said that a team from Kerema and the Hudava Reds of Goilala had shown interest taking part in the tournament.
Maima said he would include the two teams in the Central leg as he had already confirmed the teams for the NCD leg.
The tournament will be launched on Dec 12 and games for both legs (Central and NCD) will start on Dec 14.
Maima said the venues for both legs would be confirmed a week before the tournament.
Ten teams have already been confirmed for the NCD leg.
“To avoid any inconveniences, all teams are required to liaise with me to ensure that the affiliation is done on time, as late affiliations would not be accepted,” Maima said.
Maima said teams who wish to take part in the NCD and Central legs need to register as soon as possible as preferences would be given to the first teams.
Maima called on the teams to deposit their K1000 affiliation fee to Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup BSP account number 1001682713. The teams are then to present the receipt copies to competition manager Sam Koi through email [email protected] or he may be contacted on 70544851 to confirm affiliation.
The Ipata Cup is the country’s largest offseason rugby league competition.
NCD leg 10: Erima Wanderers, Hurunawini Raiders, Paga Panthers, 54 Bears, 5-Mile Watch Dogs, 24 Thunder Warriors, Boarder Storm, 6-Mile Storm, 2-Mile United, ID24 Rangers.
