GULF Isou recorded their first win of the Digicel Cup season with a 16-10 round-three victory against the luckless Mt Hagen Eagles in Port Moresby on Saturday.
The visitors opened the scoring through winger Vincent Neri who scored a converted try out wide courtesy of great ball movement by Yabra Kuk and Desmond Michael five minutes in.
Isou responded in the 18th minute through a quick move by fullback Patrick Palme who set up centre Chalie Koto who burst through the Eagles defence to level the scores at 6-6.
The Nigel Hukula-coached side then hit the lead (10-6) at halftime after Patrick Palme scored a try.
The Eagles responded 15 minutes into the second half when Desmond Michael scored a try to level 10-10. Isou scored another try to seal their first victory 16-10.
