Gunners dominate Easter rugby 7s meet

KALIBOBO Gunners went on a rampage as they dominated the Madang Rugby Football Union Easter rugby 7s fiesta over the long weekend to come out champions last Saturday.
They defeated crowd favourites DWU Esi Cruzers 36-17.
Having gone through the pool matches undefeated last Friday, the side led by veteran “General” Paul Joseph, captain Lloyd Laurie, Forster Laurie and  Willie Lakman  combining with other youngsters, used composure to burn the students.
Cruzers came out firing, scoring within minutes to take a seven-point lead, only to find the Gunners hungrier replying through wing Masella Zale  and a Joseph special at the corner.
Cruzers penned one back with big Jimmy Mai running 50m for a centre try but that only added fuel to fire as Joseph, Lakman and Ferdinand Ban scored to send them packing.
